Two similar Dodge Challenger build sheets use different codes for what appears to be the same feature. Mine uses *K6, described as “Premium Cloth Bucket seats. This code identifies the factory seat style, upholstery, or interior trim configuration” Can anyone explain how these variations are normally handled?

I would avoid buying retrofit parts until the connectors and module support are confirmed. Returning electronic or VIN-programmed components can be difficult.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

The wording may be abbreviated because these were originally production codes rather than consumer descriptions. “Premium Cloth Bucket seats. This code identifies the factory seat style, upholstery, or interior trim configuration” is a reasonable plain-English reading, but the exact implementation should be verified for the 2016 model.
