I am researching whether the *SL configuration can be added to a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The code is described as “Leather Trimmed first and second Row seats. This code identifies the factory seat style, upholstery, or interior trim configuration” I am not looking for a shortcut; I want to know what must be verified before buying parts.

My experience has been positive, but the benefit depends on how the vehicle is used. I would treat *SL as confirmation of the configuration, then evaluate whether that equipment matters for your driving.

I have seen this on a similar Jeep Grand Cherokee. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.

Check the production month as well as the model year. Mid-year changes are one reason two vehicles with the same badge can have different hardware or descriptions.
