AFA — Leather Interior Package. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group. Browse Sales Code codes →

My 2008 Chrysler 300 did not appear to leave the factory with the setup identified by AFA: “Leather Interior Package. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” I am considering adding it. Does the retrofit normally involve control-module programming, a different harness, or additional hardware?

Some codes are reused across several brands, but that does not always mean the parts are identical. Model, trim, drivetrain, and production date can all matter.

I have seen this on a similar Chrysler 300. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.

For a retrofit, check the modules, wiring connectors, software configuration, and compatible part numbers first. Installing the visible component alone may not make the feature operational.

A clear photo of the build label, VIN report, and the relevant component would help. Do not post the full VIN publicly; the last eight characters are normally enough for a parts-counter discussion.

A window sticker is helpful for customer-facing option names, while the build sheet is usually more detailed. If they disagree, the vehicle-specific dealer equipment list can help connect the sales name to AFA.
