Is the *BL option useful outside of special conditions?

My experience has been positive, but the benefit depends on how the vehicle is used. I would treat *BL as confirmation of the configuration, then evaluate whether that equipment matters for your driving.

If you are documenting the vehicle, save both the original wording and the readable explanation. That preserves the factory terminology while making the record understandable later.

Some codes are reused across several brands, but that does not always mean the parts are identical. Model, trim, drivetrain, and production date can all matter.

I have seen this on a similar Chrysler Pacifica. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.

This sounds more like a documentation mismatch than a decoder error. Different databases often shorten the same factory description in different ways.

Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with *BL.

I would avoid buying retrofit parts until the connectors and module support are confirmed. Returning electronic or VIN-programmed components can be difficult.

If the feature is listed but not working, scan all related modules before assuming it was removed. A stored fault, replacement module, or configuration mismatch can make original equipment appear absent.
