Can AEE verify the original factory configuration?

AEE — CHROME PACKAGE. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group. Browse Sales Code codes →

My 2024 Chrysler Pacifica shows AEE: “CHROME PACKAGE. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” The vehicle has had previous owners, so I am trying to separate factory equipment from later modifications. Is this code enough to confirm how it left the factory?

On these vehicles, similar descriptions can use different codes because of supplier changes or package combinations. The code itself is useful, but the VIN-specific parts catalog is better before ordering anything.

I would start by checking the original build sheet and then compare the physical equipment on the vehicle. A sales or option code confirms the factory record, but it does not prove that every original component is still installed.

If the feature is listed but not working, scan all related modules before assuming it was removed. A stored fault, replacement module, or configuration mismatch can make original equipment appear absent.

My experience has been positive, but the benefit depends on how the vehicle is used. I would treat AEE as confirmation of the configuration, then evaluate whether that equipment matters for your driving.

A window sticker is helpful for customer-facing option names, while the build sheet is usually more detailed. If they disagree, the vehicle-specific dealer equipment list can help connect the sales name to AEE.

For a retrofit, check the modules, wiring connectors, software configuration, and compatible part numbers first. Installing the visible component alone may not make the feature operational.

Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with AEE.
